Tavern at Bown Crossing

On the website it says kids eat free on Tuesday when we come there we were told $2 a child with what we were ok with. After we were done eating we got the bill and we got charged full price when we told the waiter she said she would go change it for us. She come back and said it was $2 for four children and full price for one because we were only 4 adults so it was $2 pro child for every adult. Why did you never tell us when we first ask about the kids eat free the full truth. It was a disappointing outing the food was not great either.

Nice selection of food to choose from and the Japanese menu is pretty good too. Nice beers and well stocked bar.

Always great food and service

We went out for Valentine's dinner and after being recommended the special we ordered it. The server quickly came back to let us know they were out of prime rib. Not a big deal as they were going to sub out rib eye. The problem being is the steak that we both got did not appear to be a rib eye and if it was it was super low quality. Both of our steaks were extremely tough and definitely did not match the price tag. Everything else was absolutely phenomenal. Are appetizer was great the drinks were awesome our server was exceptional. But you can understand the frustration when you order a surf and turf and get poor quality steak. Definitely the only thing from keeping this a 5 star review. We will definitely try them out again.

We had a good brunch on Sunday. Our server Kayla was great, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu. She made our dining experience fun! We will definitely be back!

Best prosciutto sandwich I've ever had. The staff was friendly and on-point. They were also able to made a special menu accommodation for someone in our group.

My daughter and son in law took me to the Tavern for a Christmas Eve dinner tonight. What a great! Our waiter, kevin, was great! Very attentive without being pushy. The food was excellent and plentiful. I ate my fill and still brought food home. I had the Tavern boursin chicken which was delicious. Will had the pork chop and the bite I got was so tender it almost melted in your mouth! Sara had the lobster capellini. Once again, delicious! Atmosphere is very relaxed.We will be back for sure! Maybe brunch!

Had tasty halibut tacos and a nice IPA with a couple guys from work while visiting Boise.

Delicious food and great date atmosphere down in Bown. Would definitely recommend reservations for typical date nights and experience will involve better than traditional fare food. Price was respectable given the quality and service. Will visit again! Thanks!

Since removing sushi bar, food has not been the same. Rice was plain, not traditional sushi rice, seemed very thrown together. Glob of wasabi with the palm print in it could be used in forensic investigation. Miso soup never fails, best thing off the sushi menu.

NO ONE and I mean NO ONE has better au gratin potatoes! I will go just for them!! SO good! I love their chicken prosciutto sandwich - it's divine.

The waitress we had was terrible! We waited for over an hour for our food. There were maybe 10 other people in the restaurant! At one point she was supposed to refill our drinks...it took 15 minutes. They were literally diet cokes. The food was alright, not a whole lot of flavor. I feel totally disappointed.

Nice restaurant, pretty tasty food, and good experience in a cool little area in East Boise. Definitely some more pricey options. Nachos looked impressive but in the end were sad, poor layering and not much flavor. French dip was amazing! If you like French dips, just get that and you're set.

I came here for a work event, but this is a gun place. They have a fire pit at the top patio so you can stand outside, but the food is delicious. I had the salmon and it was the best salmon meal that I have had.

What a great high end experience! Their cocktails are perfect the food is priced right and very good. The service is friendly and makes you feel appreciated. Great date night spot.

On hearing of our quest for Boise's best nachos, a friend recommended this place without hesitation. The pot roast nachos satisfied the evening hunger of two adults with plenty left over. The meat was tender and delicious, like angel kisses. And the chip-to-nubbins ratio was solid.

Upscale restaurant in a neat location just outside of downtown. Really great service. The food was exactly what I expected, served promptly and with a nice selection of wine.

I was trying to think on my way home if I've ever had a steak that good in my entire life. I couldn't come up with one. Had a perfectly cooked sirloin topped with peppercorns, sauteed mushrooms and gravy. Complements to the chef, knocked out of the park.

Service is very hit or miss at this place. Our last visit took over 50 mins to get our meal and we only ordered 4 burgers. It was a Sunday and they were not very busy at all. The food is typically quite good but the service is so bad sometimes it makes you not want to come back. If you have plenty of time to sit around and wait for food its worth the wait.

We came here for Valentines day, and really enjoyed it. We brought our 2 year old with us, and they had a high chair ready for him. We we treated well even with having our toddler with us (which is unusual for a place like this) so huge thanks for that! The steak was cooked perfectly, and I loved the little kids menu that had more than the average choices for kids, it made it a lot more fun. Try the spring roll, it was so good!

Wow, what a great experience! Dinner was delicious. Especially enjoyed the charcuterie board, brussel sprouts, and wedge salad. Our server was super sweet, attentive, and recommend a yummy wine, although it was a CA wine..being from WA wine country 😎.
